BISBEE — Due to a scheduling mix-up at the Bisbee Woman’s Club, the open-mic reading originally scheduled for that location this Saturday, Jan. 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. has been moved to The Oliver House at 24 Sowles Avenue. To get to the Oliver House, turn on Howell Avenue, go past the Copper Queen Hotel and the YMCA, to the parking lot by the Episcopal Church. At the far end of that parking lot is a marked walkway to The Oliver House.
This reading is one of two in association with the 2012 Cochise Community Creative Writing Celebration, a writer’s conference held March 30 and 31, co-sponsored by Cochise College, University South Foundation Inc., City of Sierra Vista Leisure and Library Services and Cochise College Foundation’s Diane E. Freund Memorial Writing Celebration Fund.
This reading and one scheduled at the Sierra Vista Public Library on Jan. 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. are both free and open to the public, with refreshments available. Local writers of poetry and prose are encouraged to attend and read their work to an appreciative audience.
