Although only a few people who could call him a colleague are still connected to Cochise College, those who do remember George Huncovsky, who passed away in September, recall him fondly.

Huncovsky, “one of the finest of the ‘beginners’ (first Cochise College faculty), according to former humanities faculty Dr. Joe Gilliland,” taught math until he retired in 1990. “He worked hard for students, maintained high grading standards, and was simply the best of the best.”

Dr. Bo Hall (’71), now dean of student services and athletic director, describes him as an astute instructor with a dry, but very funny, sense of humor.

Services took place Sept. 14. Click here to learn more about the life of George Huncovsky.
