The Cochise College women’s rodeo team finished second and the men fourth at the first rodeo of the season, held at Dine College on Sept. 19-20.
Georgia Diez and Janey Reeves tied for second in goat tying, followed by Hallie Fulton in fifth and Anna Barker in sixth. Makayla Boots scored points for the women’s team in team roping, finishing fourth. Diez took sixth in barrel racing, followed by Fulton in seventh.
For the men, Casey Harris took fifth place in steer wrestling.
Next, the Apaches host their annual fall rodeo at the Cochise County Fair in Douglas. Performances are set for Friday night, followed by Saturday morning slack and evening championship.
