GLENDALE — The Cochise College baseball team split its doubleheader with Glendale Community College on Tuesday, falling in game one 4-0 and winning game two 2-0.
In the first game, Glendale’s Jorge Carrasco held the Apaches to five hits and a walk while striking out two. Darick Hall took the loss for Cochise, allowing all four runs, one of them earned, on four hits and a walk while striking out one.
The Apaches won game two behind seven shutout innings from starter Nick Borowski, who allowed six hits and a walk while striking out six. Kade Wagner pitched the final two innings for the save. The game was scoreless until the fifth, when Dan Hetzel‘s single to center field scored Bryan Nunez and Louis Boyd.
Cochise is 26-8 overall and 11-3 in conference games heading into the heart of ACCAC play. Next, the Apaches host Paradise Valley on Saturday in a doubleheader starting at noon. Admission is free to all regular-season home games.
