IMG_9677Cochise College split its two games against Phoenix College on Tuesday, winning game one 7-2 and falling in game two 4-3.

Darick Hall earned the win for the Apaches in the early game, striking out seven while allowing two earned runs on eight hits and a walk in the complete seven innings. At the plate, Hall went 3 for 4 with a run scored.

Cochise scored early with a run in the first on an RBI single by Sean DeSoto, then added two more runs in the fourth on a double by Louis Boyd, and four more in the seventh on a bases-loaded walk, a two-run double by Charlie Ameer, and a sacrifice fly by Nick Borowski.

In game two, Cochise was up 3-1 heading into the bottom of the ninth, when Phoenix scored three runs on two outs, ending it with a walk-off passed ball. Borowski pitched 8 2/3 innings for Cochise, giving up three runs, one of them earned, on a walk and five hits while striking out four. Adam De La Cruz took the loss.

Cochise is 29-9 overall and 14-4 in conference play. Next, the Apaches host Pima on Saturday in a noon doubleheader, then head to Scottsdale on Tuesday.
