The Cochise College Center for Lifelong Learning will offer its seventh annual Synergy and Social Services Workshop from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, at the Cochise College Sierra Vista Campus Student Union Community Room.

The event theme is “Mission of Service: Tools for your Success” and includes sessions covering effective meetings, non-verbal cues and building a board.

Certified parliamentarian Paul Lamb’s presentation will teach the fundamentals of parliamentary procedure that help make meetings go smoother while transacting business.

Cochise College psychology instructor Tierra Stimson will cover non-verbal cues, including the nature of emotions and how to understand people better by noticing cues in appearance, facial expressions and other body movements.

Brad Harris of the Arizona Community Foundation will host an interactive discussion that focuses on strategies for developing a pipeline of leaders and equipping them for service on a volunteer board.

Advance registration is $25, or at the door for $30, which includes lunch. The event is sponsored by CLL, the Cochise Community Foundation, and the United Way of Sierra Vista and Cochise County.
