DOUGLAS — The Cochise College Aviation Department will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19 on the Douglas Campus. The public is invited to tour facilities, try out simulators and take an introductory airplane flight.

Aviation facilities, located on the far north side of campus in the 1800 Building, recently received remodeling treatment, including renovated classrooms and offices, a new observation area, and runway reconstruction.

Those interested in the introductory airplane flight should call 417-4114 for more information or to RSVP by Oct. 15. The cost for the flight is $68.

During the open house, a ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for 11 a.m., with an Unmanned Aerial Systems demonstration by Northrop Grumman at 11:30 a.m.

Cochise College’s program opportunities for students in aviation include professional pilot training, UAS operator training and avionics tech training. For more information about the aviation program, visit www.cochise.edu/aviation.
