SIERRA VISTA — Cochise College and Chamberlain College of Nursing, a long-standing nursing institution, have formed an educational partnership to better serve current and future nursing students in Cochise County.

The agreement allows Cochise College nursing graduates to advance their careers by pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing online through Chamberlain at a 10 percent reduced tuition rate, as well as waived application and transcript fees. Chamberlain’s RN to BSN online degree completion option allows students to earn a BSN degree in as few as three semesters.
“In addition to offering the BSN degree, the partnership between our organizations will promote our shared values while preparing future nurse leaders, thus improving the quality of health care in our community,” said Cochise College President J.D. Rottweiler.

The agreement with Chamberlain is one of several articulation agreements Cochise College has with higher institutions for BSN programs. Cochise’s nursing program also has partnerships with Arizona State University, University of Arizona, Northern Arizona University, Kaplan University, Western New Mexico University, Grand Canyon University, Capella University and the University of Phoenix.
Chamberlain College of Nursing was ranked fourth on the Best Online Nursing Programs of 2012 list, as determined by SuperScholar’s Smart Choice ranking of online nursing schools. The for-profit nursing school is owned by DeVry and has locations throughout the U.S.
Chamberlain College of Nursing is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, while its nursing program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
The Cochise College nursing program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and approved by the Arizona State Board of Nursing. The program offers expert instruction, modern equipment, and a wide variety of clinical experience in hospitals and agencies throughout Cochise County.
