A number of scholarships for Cochise College are still available for the current academic year to students who fill out a simple online application form by Monday, Sept. 21. The total available is about $10,000.

For example, adult students who are returning to school full time after three or more years and majoring in English, fine art or music may qualify for one of two $1,000 Archie V. Taylor Memorial Scholarships. Another $1,000 Grady Fippinger Scholarship award is available to a 2015 Bisbee High School graduate studying math, science or technology full time. Other criteria, such as grade point average or financial need, may apply, and applicants should be prepared to provide official transcripts from previous educational experiences. It is helpful if applicants have also completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Some of the scholarships are available because they were donated after the college’s traditional January to March application period. The college will accept financial aid and scholarship applications for the 2016-2017 school year early in 2016.
