DOUGLAS – The Cochise women’s soccer team left its home field for the last time this season with a 2-0 victory over South Mountain for a season sweep of the Cougars.
Cochise had goals from Franciele Bonfanti, assisted by Gio Posada, and Adriana Arrieta off a free kick by Kristina Hernandez.
“It was nice the team was able to rally together and win their last home game and on sophomore day,” said Cochise head coach Andrea Daniels.
Earlier in the season, the Apaches defeated South Mountain on the road 4-1. The win on Thursday puts Cochise’s record at 6-11-1 this season heading into its finale at Glendale Community College on Saturday.
“We are looking to close the season with a strong win against them,” Daniels said.
