Cochise Baseball team is now 13-7 in the conference after a doubleheader win on the road in Mesa on Saturday, April 3. In the first game of the doubleheader, the Apaches turned to RHP Nate Rohlicek for the start. Rohlicek was credited with the win and allowed seven hits and three runs in his seventh-inning complete game affair, walking one and striking out six. Cochise scored in every inning of this game and tallied a total of eleven hits. The Apaches got multiple hits from Cameron Crotte, Hernan Yanez, Makai Desoto, and Connor Caskenette. Crotte and Jimmy Deleon both had two runs batted in. Caskenette had two doubles, while Cochise played error-free baseball.

The Apaches fell behind early in game two giving up four runs to Mesa in the first inning; however, the offensive power would keep Cochise in the game. Trailing 5-1 in the top of the third inning, the Apaches tied the game with a grand slam off Eduarny Martinez’s bat. Mesa scored two more in the bottom of the third off Apache reliever Jose Velazquez, who settled in nicely after Cochise scored four more runs in the top of fourth. Velazquez allowed four runs, one earned, on six hits, four walks, and collected three strikeouts. The four runs in the fourth inning were from a Caskenette ground out and singles from Yanez, Crotte, and Javier Gutierrez. Martinez had six runs batted in on his two home runs, and Ethan Silcox had four hits.
