Apaches volunteered for the sixth straight Bisbee 1000.
After taking last year off due to COVID, the Annual Bisbee 1000 The Great Stair Climb presented by Bisbee Vogue, Inc. went off with great enthusiasm this past Saturday at 9 a.m. in downtown Bisbee, Ariz.
For the sixth straight event, the Cochise College men’s basketball team was responsible for setting up, maintaining the water stations, and keeping the racers hydrated throughout the race. They provided great support to all the runners and walkers who participated in the event.
Head Coach Jerry Carrillo participated in the event for the sixth time as well. Carrillo finished 362 out of 871 racers and commented, “this was his worst finish.”
The coaches and team gave a huge shout-out to all participants and volunteers who made this great event for Cochise County. Cochise Basketball plans to be in full force for next year’s event.
