Dr. Macaela Cashman, director of professional development and learning innovations at Cochise College, has joined the board of directors of the North American Council on Staff, Program and Organizational Development (NCSPOD).

Cashman has been a member of NCSPOD since 2006. In her role on the board, she will assist in broadening the organization’s international presence and membership and in developing the Staff, Program and Organizational Developers’ Certificate program. Cashman lived in Germany for five years; she completed the certificate program in 2007. She will attend her first board meeting in January and expects to serve for at least two years.

At Cochise College, Cashman develops for faculty and staff programs such as the Great Teaching Academy, Leadership Academy, Faculty Staff Development Day, customer service training, and learning communities. She is currently working on a professional development program for associate faculty.

Cashman previously served as cultural events coordinator for the college and organizational manager for the Sierra Vista Symphony. She is associate faculty in art, history, humanities and anthropology. She holds a doctorate in education and anthropology from Oregon State University and a master’s in human resource education from Boston University.
