Henry Kellen, a Holocaust survivor affiliated with the El Paso Holocaust Museum and Study Center, will visit Cochise College for “Remembering the Children,” a holocaust memorial and dedication scheduled for Thursday, April 14.

For the past 11 years, Kellen and the El Paso museum have hosted hundreds of Cochise College students during field trips each semester. College students also collected pennies to help establish a memorial for the children lost in the Holocaust in honor of college faculty member Dave Pettes, who has spearheaded the partnership with the museum. Pettes has taken nearly 1,100 Cochise College students to the museum and created a class to teach the lessons learned from the Holocaust.

Kellen’s visit to the Douglas Campus includes lunch with students, as well as a lecture and dedication of a memorial. The public is invited to attend the lecture and dedication scheduled for 1 to 3 p.m. in the Student Union.
