The Cochise College Aviation Department will host an open house for students and the general public from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 7 at the Douglas Campus.

Aviation alumni will be on hand to talk about careers in aviation. Participants will learn about registration and financial aid opportunities, take a campus tour, and have the opportunity to take an introductory flight (cost, $60).

Janet Cote, a Boeing 777 first officer for United Airlines who enrolled in the Cochise College professional pilot program in 1984, says now is a great time to begin flight training, as more jobs will become available when senior pilots retire. Other Cochise College alumni pilots who plan to attend include Dave Gasho, U.S. Customs; Dominic Castro and Chris Kennedy, United Airlines; Malcolm Powers, Sky West; Todd Lattin, U.S. Airways pilot; and Wes Cash and Alex Stewart.

For more information, call (520) 417-4114. Anyone needing an accommodation in order to attend should contact the Disability Services Office, (520) 515-5337 or (520) 417-4023, at least 72 hours in advance.
