The Cochise College Center for Lifelong Learning is planning the free workshop After the Emergency: A Rebuilding Workshop to provide services and information to community members impacted by the fire in the Huachuca Mountains.
Topics at the July 30 workshop will include the fire and its aftermath, fire-wise replanting and rebuilding, rehabilitating range land, tree and plant care, erosion control, insurance, and preparing for the future. Presenters include representatives of the U.S. Forest Service, the National Resource Conservation Service, Cochise County Cooperative Extension Water Wise Program, Cochise County, and an I.S.A-certified arborist.
In addition, various agencies and organizations will set up resource tables.
The workshop is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 30 in the Sierra Vista Campus Student Union. It is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be provided by Sodexo, the college food service. For more information, call the CLL at (520) 515-5492.
