The City of Sierra Vista has donated a pair of surplus vehicles to Cochise College’s First Responders Academy in support of the Southeastern Arizona Law Enforcement Training Academy. The donated vehicles, a Ford Crown Victoria and a Ford Explorer were previously in active service with the Sierra Vista Police Department before being retired from patrol duty.

“The vehicles will serve as an invaluable tool for the recruits. Their primary function will be facilitating training in critical areas, such as emergency driving, traffic stops and other field problems,” Eric Brooks, executive director of the college’s First Responders Academy, announced. “These hands-on exercises will be conducted on the new driving track in Sierra Vista.”

The two vehicles will find a new purpose and enhance the educational experience of future law enforcement students while symbolizing the partnership between the City of Sierra Vista and Cochise College.
