The Youth Arts Festival is set to be held at the Cochise College Sierra Vista Campus on Saturday, March 23. This free event, open to families, will be a fun-filled, inspiring day of discovery and Photo 2creative expression from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The festival is an exciting event for children of all ages to explore the world of art, offering various activities of creativity. From pop-up performances and music to hands-on projects encouraging participants to create unique art pieces, the event engages young minds in different artistic disciplines, including 2D and 3D art, crafts and poetry.

“I would like to extend a warm invitation to the Cochise County community and our neighbors in Sierra Vista to join us for the Youth Arts Festival,” said JenMarie Zeleznak, art instructor and event coordinator. “The Youth Arts Festival is very special to me. We hope participants can learn something new about themselves, culture, or a technique or skill.”

Zeleznak added, “You never know what may spark a child’s imagination, and this festival gives kids a chance to try out many different activities all in a single day.”

The festival is a day for fun and an educational experience where youth can explore various forms of artistic expression. It’s a chance for them to learn, create, and perhaps discover a lifelong passion for the arts.

Parents and guardians are reminded that art-making is hands-on and occasionally messy. To participate, parents or guardians must always be present with the youth during the event.

Cochise College organized the event with community partners, including the City of Sierra Vista, Sierra Vista Community Theatre, Cochise County Youth Orchestra, Go Team Therapy Dogs of Southern Arizona and the Boys and Girls Club of Sierra Vista.
