Global Carol, a free community holiday concert, will feature Cochise College’s choral ensembles and other talented musicians and students at three locations in December.
The concert will be filled with ancient to modern chants, carols and other works from around the world, including Africa, Europe and Latin America, some a cappella and others with instrumental accompaniment.
Audience members will hear the sweet strands of ancient chants juxtaposed with the rhythmic fervor of later traditions, presented by the Cochise College Chamber Choir, directed by Dr. Norene Walters, and the acclaimed Bi-national Chorus, directed by Dr. Lori Keyne. Accompanying will be celebrated percussionist Cleve Jones, along with Cochise College faculty members, including Callie Hutchison and Francisco Barrios.
Put your spirits in the mood for an exceptional, rewarding and receptive holiday by attending one or all of three performances:
• 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Sierra Vista
• 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Douglas High School Auditorium
• 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Bisbee
