Cochise College is included in the 2013 Affordable Colleges online list of “Most Affordable Large Community Colleges,” comprised of 100 quality large community colleges in the U.S. that have an affordable price tag.
AffordableCollegesOnline.org (ACO) provides information about affordable colleges options, financial aid and cost saving ideas. It’s the first website to offer comprehensive lists of most affordable colleges in different categories.
“There are a slew of rankings and lists that promote the most expensive colleges,” ACO founder Dan Schuessler said. “Our lists look at value colleges that also provide an excellent education. These schools are much more affordable for a wider base of students. In a time when the cost of college continues to skyrocket and student debt balloons, it is important to promote more affordable options.”
In addition to its list of most affordable large community colleges, the website also lists most affordable large public colleges, small private colleges and online colleges, with plans to add additional lists. To compile the lists, ACO uses three main data sets: NCES, IPEDS (each provided by the federal government) and Carnegie Classification.
