Jean Giuffrida, manager of the Long Realty office in Sierra Vista, has joined the board of the Cochise College Foundation.

Giuffrida is a 20-year resident of the Sierra Vista area and a former educator. A graduate of Farleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, NJ, she moved to Arizona with her husband, Tom, and raised two children, including one Cochise College graduate. She became a licensed agent with Long Realty in 1998 and manager of the local office in 2006.

Giuffrida is past president of the Women’s Council of Realtors and a past officer of the Southeast Arizona Association of Realtors and Multiple Listing Service. More recently, she served on the Greater Sierra Vista Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors, working closely with the organization’s leadership program, and co-hosted the Open House Radio Show on 1420 KTAN.

“Jean’s enthusiasm for enhancing the community, and the relationships she’s developed with people from all walks of life, are a good fit for the Foundation,” said Board President Yolanda Anderson. “We are very excited to begin working with her.”

The Cochise College Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to promote student success through scholarships, facilities development, and program support. By supporting Cochise College, the foundation endeavors to increase the college’s accessibility to the diverse and changing communities of Cochise County. The board also includes Jan Guy, vice president, Hereford; Mark Battaglia, treasurer, Benson; Gail Zamar, secretary, Douglas; Charles Chambers, Cindy Hayostek, and Ruben Teran of Douglas; Karen L. Justice of Bisbee; Gene Manring and Bob Strain of Sierra Vista; and Dr. Dan Rehurek of Sonoita.
