TUCSON — The Cochise College women’s basketball team split its two games at the Bruce Fleck Classic hosted by Pima Community College this week.
The Apaches’ seven-game winning streak was snapped on Monday with a loss to Western Texas College, 74-70. Cochise then defeated Gillette College of Wyoming on Tuesday, 76-67, led by Destiny Amezquita with 17 points, followed by Jessica Almeida and Jada Lewis with 14 apiece. Tianna Brown added 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Cochise is 10-4 overall heading into Winter Break. The Apaches resume conference play on Jan. 4 at Central Arizona College, followed by a home game on the Douglas Campus against Pima Community College at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 8. Admission is free to all regular-season home games.
