DOUGLAS — The Cochise College men’s basketball team’s seven-game winning streak was snapped Saturday night as the Apaches fell to Phoenix College 84-70.
Tim Jacobs led Cochise with 20 points. Oliver Guerrero came off the bench to finish with 18 points and six rebounds. Antonio Penny added five rebounds and five assists.
“We couldn’t score consistently against their zone,” Cochise head coach Jerry Carrillo told the Sierra Vista Herald. “Phoenix College is a good team and they beat us fair and square.”
The Apaches are now 11-7 overall this season and 6-4 in ACCAC play heading into Wednesday’s game at Scottsdale and Saturday’s game at South Mountain.
The Apaches return home to the Douglas Campus on Jan. 22 against Mesa for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff. Admission is free to all regular-season home games.
