IMG_8288PHOENIX — The Cochise College women’s basketball team came from behind to beat South Mountain Community College on Saturday, 64-62.

Destiny Amezquita led the Apaches with 16 points, followed by Tianna Brown with 13, Jessica Almeida with 12 and Aja Hoyle with 11. Te Oramae Solomon added 10 rebounds.

Cochise was down 36-23 at the half, then scored 41 points after the break to secure the win.

The Apaches have won three straight to improve their overall record to 13-6 and 8-4 in conference play heading into home games against Mesa and Eastern Arizona this week. Both Wednesday’s and Saturday’s games tip off at 5:30 p.m. on the Douglas Campus. Admission is free to all regular-season home games.
