IMG_0480DOUGLAS — The Cochise College baseball team swept its doubleheader against Eastern Arizona College on Saturday, winning game one 7-4 and game two 7-1.

Steve Naemark earned the win for Cochise in the early game, going six innings and giving up no runs, no walks and just four hits while striking out five.

The Apaches scored four in the second inning thanks to an RBI double by Francisco Silva, an error and two groundouts.

Cochise scored three more in the fourth when Louis Boyd, who went 2 for 3 at the plate in the game, doubled in Jovan Ewusie and Zion Bell, followed by an RBI single by Jake Luna.

Eastern Arizona plated four in the seventh.

In the late game, Josh Advocate went seven innings on the mound, allowing a run in the seventh on two walks and four hits while striking out seven.

The Apaches took the lead in the sixth with four runs and added three in the seventh. Douglas Campus.
