DOUGLAS – The Cochise College women’s soccer team’s hopes for a third straight win were put on hold Tuesday after the Apaches’ game against Paradise Valley was postponed due to lightning.
Cochise entered the game scheduled against Paradise Valley on a two-game streak after a 2-1 win over Glendale Community College at home Saturday.
“The girls played a great 10 minutes and a great last 10 minutes,” said Cochise head coach Andrea Daniels. “The middle was very messy and unorganized. Although it wasn’t pretty, we got the W, which we needed for our overall record.”
Both goals scored against Glendale looked rather similar, with sophomore Kayla Davis recording two assists by taking the ball and a defender down the line and finding one of her freshman Brazilian teammates to score, first to Franciele Bonfanti and second to Juliana Alves Da Silva.
Daniels said the game against Paradise Valley will be rescheduled for a later date this season. Next, the Apaches take a 4-6-1 record into a Thursday home game against Scottsdale Community College.
