IMG_5016DOUGLAS — The Cochise College women’s rodeo team won the annual rodeo at the Cochise County Fair on Sept. 26 and 27.

The Apaches were led by freshman Janey Reeves, who won the women’s all-around and finished first in breakaway roping, third in goat tying and fifth in barrel racing. Arrianna Assini took third in the all-around and Bandee Tubbs was sixth.

The Cochise women held the top four spots in the goat tying competition, led by Assini in first, Makayla Boots in second and Hallie Fulton in fourth, followed by Tubbs in seventh. In breakaway roping, Katie Adams finished third, Assini was eighth and Tubbs was ninth.

The Cochise men finished fifth overall. Bobby Flores earned points for Cochise as heeler in team roping.

Cochise College rodeo finishes the fall portion of the season on Oct. 10-11 at Mesalands in Tucumcari, N.M. The spring schedule is TBA.
