IMG_6938TUCSON — The Cochise women’s basketball team won a thriller against Pima Community College in overtime Saturday, 72-71.

The Apaches trailed by 22 at halftime and rallied to score 45 in the second half to tie it and send the game into overtime. Destiny Amezquita led Cochise with 21 points, including a 3-pointer with two seconds left in overtime to win it. McCorra Ford scored 18, Ashleigh Sparks had 11, and Arianna Anderson finished with nine points and 10 rebounds.

The win improves Cochise’s record to 16-8 overall and 10-7 in conference play. Next, the Apaches host Scottsdale Community College on Wednesday at the Douglas Campus. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. Admission is free to all regular-season home games.
