Cochise College Soccer hosted #2 NJCAA D2 Phoenix College on Thursday, April 29. The Apaches found themselves in a hole after a penalty kick was awarded to the Bears in the 14th minute. Cochise College had multiple opportunities to tie the game, but the Phoenix goalkeeper was up to the task.

The second half featured two goals, the first one coming from Maria Azarias, to tie the game 1-1 in the 61st minute after a pass from Kayla Reynaud, a freshman from Las Cruces, New Mexico. She picked up the ball in the middle and switched it to the right, where Azarias hit a 40-yard shot on goal. A few minutes later, Azarias hit the crossbar. The Bears answered not long after in the 64th minute to retake the lead, which became the game-winning goal.

This loss drops the Apaches’ record to 3-3.
