The Cochise College women’s soccer team starts its road trip to California this week with a 2-3 record under its belt after a 3-0 win against Gateway on Friday and a 4-0 loss to Paradise Valley on Tuesday.
The Apaches’ win was their second shutout of the season. Lisa Christensen, Talya De Leon and Karina Lira each had goals against Gateway.
“The girls really came out strong,” Cochise head coach Andrea Daniels said. “They controlled the game from minute one until minute 90. They played composed, with confidence, and with a fight I’m very proud to see.”
Next, the Apaches pause in conference play to travel to California, where they’ll face Grossmont Community College in El Cajon on Thursday and Southwestern College in Chula Vista on Saturday.
“We’ll be able to focus on team tactics, team bonding and experience a different level of soccer,” Daniels said.
