DOUGLAS — The Cochise College soccer team is looking toward the 2013 fall season as its incoming freshman class forms this offseason.
“We are very much looking forward to the upcoming season,” said Cochise head coach Andrea Daniels. “We have found a solid group of incoming freshmen to complement our fierce group of returning sophomores.”
The 2012 Apaches, with just three sophomores on the squad, finished with a 9-9-3 overall record, closing out its season with a 1-0 loss to Phoenix College in the quarterfinals of the National Junior College Athletic Association Region I playoffs.

Venese Morales

Personal goal for the 2013 season: I would like to grow as a player and be the best I can be for my team.

Brooke Madden
High School: Buena High School

Position: Forward, Midfield
Three Strengths: My three strengths would probably be my passion for the game, my ability to always learn and improve, and sportsmanship.
Personal goal for the 2013 season: To improve myself in all aspects as a soccer player.

Kianna Monique Ross

Personal goal for the 2013 season: Use my God-given talents to help Cochise College’s soccer program to be successful and to gain the knowledge I need to become a marine biologist.

Mariel Louise D. Hundley
High School: Las Vegas High School

Position: Center Midfielder
Three Strengths: Having good field awareness, creating critical plays, keeping team positive and motivated.
Personal goal for the 2013 season: My personal goal for the 2013 season is be a major asset to the team’s success. I want to be a motivational factor to my teammates, and keeping my work ethic mindset always at 100 percent.
Coach’s Quote: Mariel will play center midfield for us; she’s very strong, super focused and brings a lot of craftiness.
Arianna Paez

Three strengths: Communication on the field, distributing passes, and supporting my teammates.
Personal goal for the 2013 season: Keep my eye on the prize. Push myself to be the best I can be, by working hard every day and encourage my teammates to work together to be the best we can be as a team.
Coach’s Quote: Arianna Paez is a Las Cruces standout who will play a lot of minutes for us in the center midfield position. She has a very good work rate and looks to attack of the transition very well.
Ivonne Cisneros

Three Strengths: 1. Hard Worker 2. Motivated 3. Open Minded
Personal goal for the 2013 season: My personal goal is to not give up. I need to push myself and give 110 percent in every practice and game. I will not let my team down.
