SIERRA VISTA — You’re invited to celebrate El Día de los Muertos and find out more about this ancient holiday with Cochise College Humanities 101 students.
This Thursday, Oct. 27, visit room 1208 at the Sierra Vista Campus from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. for a viewing of Mike Foster’s short film about El Día de los Muertos, which was filmed on location in Southeastern Arizona and Sonora, Mexico. This special screening and discussion with the director is free and open to the public.
Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday celebrated in late October and early November, when family and friends gather to pray for and remember those who have died. Alters, offerings, flowers, skulls and parades are all well-known elements incorporated into this ancient tradition.
