A video featuring Coronado High School (El Paso) basketball coach Peter Morales (’00) recently made the rounds on various social media, gaining more than 200,000 views since it was posted on YouTube about a week ago.

Produced by CBS On the Road with Steve Hartman, the broadcast depicts Morales’ role in leading the heartwarming actions of players, opponents and spectators alike during the Thunderbirds’ final regular-season game against the Franklin High School Cougars, a team coached by another Cochise alum, Todd Bostic (’03).

Morales played at Cochise from 1998 to 2000 and was a starting guard on the Apaches’ 2000 Region 1 championship team. He earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education at New Mexico Highlands University and a master of arts from Sul Ross State University. A former Coronado High Thunderbird – Nnamdi Ezenwa – also played at Cochise from 2010 to 2012 before transferring to Idaho State University. Bostic played at Cochise from 2001 to 2003 and went on to play at the University of New Orleans. The Franklin High School website also lists him as a social studies teacher.
