THATCHER — The Cochise College women’s basketball team lost 63-62 to Eastern Arizona College on Wednesday night.
It’s the second straight game in which the Apaches have lost by just one point to a strong conference opponent.
“The bottom line is, we’re not getting stops,” Cochise head coach Laura Hughes told the Sierra Vista Herald. “We’ve been close to the top teams in the conference … but we’re not executing at the ends of games.”
Cochise’s Destiny Amezquita led all scorers with 27 points. Tianna Brown added 15 points and 14 rebounds for the Apaches, who are 2-3 heading into Saturday’s game against Tohono O’odham at 5:30 p.m. on the Douglas Campus.
Admission is free to all regular-season home games.
