DOUGLAS — Three Cochise College sophomore baseball players have signed early to play for universities next year.

Pitcher Josh Advocate has committed to Long Beach University, Xavier Altamirano will head to Oral Roberts University as a pitcher, and Gerardo Arzaga is set to attend Lubbock Christian University as a corner infielder.

“We’re proud to say that three of our Apaches will continue their education and playing baseball,” said Cochise assistant coach Jesus Arzaga. “Congratulations on their hard work and dedication.”
The Apaches are wrapping up the fall exhibition season, and they now look ahead toward spring. This year’s squad is looking to defend last year’s Region I and Western District titles, and second-straight appearance in the NJCAA World Series.
