GLENDALE — The Cochise College women’s basketball team defeated Glendale Community College on Saturday, 66-59.
Destiny Amezquita led the Apaches with 18 points. Jessica Almeida added 14 points, Aja Hoyle had 13 points and 10 rebounds, and Tianna Brown scored 10.
“I was happy with the effort. It was close down the stretch until we pulled away in the last two minutes,” Cochise head coach Laura Hughes told the Sierra Vista Herald. “I thought we had decent energy. We executed down the stretch and got some stops when we needed to.”
Cochise is 11-7 in conference play and 16-9 overall heading into Wednesday’s home game against Central Arizona. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. on the Douglas Campus.
Admission is free to all regular-season home games.
