DOUGLAS — Three Cochise College soccer players received postseason honors early this week by earning spots on Arizona Community College Athletic Conference teams.

Makenna Lehrman was named to First Team All-Conference and All-Region. Lehrman started nearly every game this season and was one of only three sophomores leading the young Apache squad.

“She has grown and improved so much from her freshman to sophomore year,” said Cochise College head coach Andrea Daniels. “Every day she comes in and works her butt off. I couldn’t think of a player who deserves it more.”

Freshman Talya De Leon was named to the All-Conference second team and led the Apaches with 14 goals, including two in Cochise’s 7-0 win against South Mountain on Saturday, and an assist this year. Lisa Christensen earned honorable mention.

“Talya has been a huge threat for us and I know she’ll be even more dangerous next year,” Daniels said. “Lisa has suffered an injury the entire season and has fought through it. Her commitment to success and hard work makes her the player she is.”
