DOUGLAS – The Cochise College Runnin’ Apaches are hungry to begin their NJCAA Region I title defense.
The men’s basketball team has embarked in fall workouts in preparation for the upcoming season. There are 20 looking for roster spots at Camp Cochise in the early weeks of the school year.
“We are very cautiously optimistic about this year’s team, as we have plenty of returners from a Region I championship team,” said head coach Jerry Carrillo. “We did lose four starters and our three leading scorers from last year’s team, so we will need guys to step up. We are excited.
Cochise has scrimmages scheduled through October and starts the season Nov. 1 at home against Tohono O
