Last Saturday, the Cochise College women’s soccer team traveled to University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale as part of more than 11,500 fans to see the U.S. women’s national team defeat the Republic of Ireland 2-0.
Cochise head coach Andrea Daniels said the Apaches were thrilled to see, in person, star athletes Hope Solo, Abby Wambach and Alex Morgan, who scored for the U.S. within the first minute of the game.
“The team every year tries to watch a professional soccer match to learn from, expose themselves to the higher level, and enjoy a solid match,” Daniels said.
