The Cochise women’s soccer team finished its four-game opening road trip with a 2-0 victory against Palomar Community College in California on Wednesday.

Sophomore Kayla Davis scored first off an assist from freshman Cristal Ruvalcaba, and Cochise’s insurance goal came from freshman Juliana Alves Da Silva’s header off a corner kick by Kristina Hernandez.

Earlier in the week, Cochise started its two-game stint in California with a 1-1 tie against Riverside Community College. On Monday, Riverside scored first in the 11th minute, but the Apaches tied it in the 65th minute on a penalty kick by sophomore Ellyn Dunn.

Cochise’s record is now 1-2-1 overall and 0-2 in conference games heading into its home opener at 1:30 p.m. Saturday against Pima Community College on the Douglas Campus. Pima is 1-2 on the season.

The Apache soccer field is located on the east side of campus. There is no admission charge for the game. A concession stand is available. Cochise College does not allow pets on campus.
