Former Cochise College Head Trainer, David L. “Dave” Parry was honored Wednesday, April 28 at the annual Douglas Campus awards ceremony. With one arm slung around Dave’s shoulder, James “Bo” Hall, Athletic Director and Dean of Students, praised David for his exemplary service to our athletes, coaches and staff. The plaque proclaimed him as “1st Team All-ACCAC & Region 1 Trainer”. The presentation included a couple of restaurant gift cards for the bachelor! Dave is currently a Sierra Vista Fire Department fire-fighter and EMT. He is studying to add Paramedic to his credentials. David was hired in 1993 he as the Cochise College head trainer. Most of his time here was a solo operation, taking care of the women’s soccer team before school even started, both men’s and women’s basketball teams, the baseball team and year-’round men’s and women’s rodeo teams. This doesn’t count the inumerable times he was called to assist students, staff, and even a former mayor with aches, pains and a diagnosis! Josh Bradley, head trainer and Kelsey Assiter, assistant, have followed Dave with enthusiasm and excellent abilities – knowing they have some big shoes to fill!
