IMG_1048Phoenix, AZ — Cochise College women’s basketball team took a trip to Phoenix on Saturday night, and left as big winners by beating South Mountain CC 86-54. Freshman forward Tatyana McFarland put on a top-notch performance, totaling 16 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block. Fellow frontcourt mate Arianna Anderson had 15 points and 6 rebounds, while Jordyn Penniman collected 12 points and 3 assists.

JuWanna Milton and Rauline Martinez added 9 points each, while both Sophia Elenga and guard Taylor Harris each scored 8. Harris also added 4 of Cochise’s 11 total steals and 3 assists. Defensively, the home-team Cougars were held to just 38% shooting and forced into 22 turnovers by Cochise, which shot 49% from the field and out-rebounded South Mountain 32-26.
Cochise will travel back to the Valley of the Sun for its next game on Wednesday, February 17th versus Phoenix College at 5:30 p.m.
