Four distinguished students from Cochise College have been named to the 2024 All-Arizona Academic Team. This honor recognizes their exceptional academic and extracurricular 
accomplishments and grants them tuition waivers to pursue bachelor’s degrees at Arizona’s public universities. The students will receive tuition waivers to complete their bachelor’s degrees at one of the state’s public universities. The recipients will be celebrated on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at noon in Tempe, Ariz. The event will be streamed live at mesacc.edu/live.
The celebration will have interactive components planned both up to and during the event. Participants and supporters are encouraged to join the conversation and share their congratulations on social media using the hashtags #CochiseCollege and #AllAZScholars.
Cochise College’s All-Arizona scholars:
Rosalie Collins is a student from the Sierra Vista Campus. She is majoring in nursing and plans to earn a bachelor’s degree in nursing at Arizona State University. Her ultimate goal is to further her education and become a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.
Nikko Ochoa is majoring in Fine Arts and plans to join Northern Arizona University’s School of Art. His passion for anime, sparked in childhood while in foster care, has shaped his ambitious goal: to create and develop his own anime series. Ochoa aims to create stories that resonate deeply with others, drawing on the inspiration he found in anime during his formative years.
Kevin Robles Lopez of Douglas is majoring in engineering and plans to earn a bachelor’s degree in software engineering from Northern Arizona University.
Jonathan Sigona is a student from the Sierra Vista Campus. He is majoring in mathematics and plans to earn a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and statistics at the University of Arizona. Sigona is an active Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society member, a helpful student aide at the Cochise College Library, and a volunteer pianist at the Sierra Vista Bethel Church. He aims to become a statistician dedicated to the environmental sector, combining his love for numbers with a passion for our planet.
