In a collaborative effort between Cochise County and Cochise College’s Civic Engagement Committee, a Voting Equipment Demo and presentation by the Election Systems & Software is set to take place on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at the college’s Sierra Vista Campus. Two sessions will be offered – one from 10 to 11 a.m. and the second from 6 to 7 p.m. This FREE event welcomes the public to attend.

This joint initiative provides an opportunity for citizens to see the voting equipment, ask questions and get more information.

County Administrator Richard Karwaczka expressed his appreciation to Cochise College and the Civic Engagement Committee for hosting the event, and said:

“This is a great opportunity for members of the public to find out about the tabulating equipment that is used during elections, and to get a first hand look at how it works. We’re looking forward to another successful election season in 2024, and encourage voters to join us at this community event.”

After the presentation the experts from Election Systems & Software (ES&S) will answer equipment-related questions submitted by attendees. Q&A cards will be available at a table at the entrance to the Community Room in the college’s Student Union before both events.

“Cochise College is excited to collaborate with the county to bring in more voter education opportunities,” said Dr. J.D. Rottweiler, president of Cochise College. “We believe this initiative will build trust and transparency, allowing voters to witness the voting process and providing valuable insights.”

Mark your calendars and join us for the Voting Equipment Demo and presentation.
