YUMA — The Cochise College men’s basketball team opened conference play Tuesday with a win over Arizona Western College, 86-80.
Jordan Martin scored a game-high 24 points, followed by Brayon Blake with 15 points and seven rebounds. Jawan Stepney had 14 points, Arell Hennings had 12 and Daniel Hernandez finished with 10.
“I like how our guys stuck together,” Cochise head coach Jerry Carrillo told the Sierra Vista Herald. “We still have a lot of work to do, but our biggest objective as a coaching staff was to have everyone stick together and we did that.”
The Apaches are 5-0 overall heading into next week’s game against Mesa. Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 19 on the Douglas Campus. Admission is free to all regular-season home games.
