IMG_7796PHOENIX — The Cochise College men’s basketball team won all three of its games at the Phoenix College Holiday Basketball Classic this week.

The Apaches started with an 85-76 win over Vancouver Island University on Monday. Jordan Martin led Cochise with 20 points, Arell Hennings and Emanual Shepherd each scored 12 and Daniel Hernandez scored 11.

On Tuesday, Cochise defeated Snow College of Utah 94-84. Brayon Blake led with 19 points, Martin and Hernandez scored 17 apiece, Hennings finished with 15 and Jaben Garrett had 11.

Cochise closed the tournament with a 116-79 win against Future College Prep of California. Martin had 23 points and Blake scored 20. Jawan Stepney scored 13, Shepherd had 12, Hernandez and Hennings scored 11 and Justin Jones scored 10.

“Our guys did a good job in a three-day event,” Cochise head coach Jerry Carrillo told the Sierra Vista Herald. “I thought our guys did well. We’re 14-1 and we move on to next Wednesday.”

Cochise returns to conference play Wednesday at South Mountain before returning to Douglas on Jan. 14 against Central Arizona College.
