2016 RodeoThe Cochise College rodeo team finished up their region rodeo this past week. The women’s team had an undefeated year in the Grand Canyon Region, winning all 10 rodeos as a team. They also finished first Nationally among all college rodeo women’s team for earning the most points throughout the year.

The women’s rodeo team will represent Cochise College at the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR), in June.

Each team member will play their part to represent the Grand Canyon Region. Hayley Dalton Estes will take her shot in the breakaway roping and goat tying. Makayla Boots will also step into the ring for goat tying, while Janey Reeves will compete in the breakaway and goat tying and Georgia Diez will compete in barrel racing and goat tying.

The men’s rodeo team will also compete at nationals. For the men’s team, Jalen Joaquin will compete in the Bull Riding. Tristan Rio Lee will compete in the bareback riding category, while Jalen Joaquin and Jake Burwash will take on saddle bronc riding and Bobby Flores and Garrett Nullander will represent in the team roping.
