Douglas, AZ — The Apaches are leaving for the holiday break on a high note. The team beat Scottsdale CC 57-49 on Saturday night.
Arianna Anderson was instrumental in the victory, notching 11 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Ciara Fields added 10 points, while Guadalupe Chao and Tatyana McFarland each had 6 rebounds.
Cochise used a smothering approach to execute its defensive game plan, which held Scottsdale to just 33% shooting as a team. In turn, Cochise shot 48% from the field, and each of its players who logged minutes scored. Cochise also out-rebounded Scottsdale 39-30.
The victory takes Cochise to a 9-3 overall record and a 5-2 clip inside its conference. Cochise will resume play on December 29th, in a matchup versus Snow College at 3 p.m. to kick-off the Pima CC tournament in Tucson.
