DOUGLAS — The Cochise College women’s soccer team fell to Phoenix College on Tuesday, 2-1.
Lightning delayed the game for an hour just 41 minutes into the scoreless match. After play resumed, the Bears scored in the 49th minute and again in the 71st minute before Ivonne Cisneros put Cochise on the board in the 78th minute.
Goalie Diana Medrano made six saves for Cochise, which is now 8-4-1 on the season heading into Thursday’s game at rival Arizona Western College in Yuma. The Apaches return home Saturday at 3 p.m. against Paradise Valley and Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. against Pima.
Admission is free to all regular-season home games.
