1028 soccer vs s mtnDOUGLAS — The Cochise College women’s soccer team closed out the regular season Saturday with a 10-0 rout over South Mountain Community College.

Ivonne Cisneros, assisted by Talya De Leon, scored within the first 20 seconds of the game, followed by an unassisted goal in the 14th minute. De Leon scored a minute later unassisted, followed by two goals scored by Brooke Madden, one on an assist by Jennifer Calanche.

In the second half, goals were scored by Kim Cormier, two by Calanche, Naiara Sanchez and Brittany Melvin, with assists by Calanche, Melvin and Madden.

The win brings Cochise’s record to 11-9 heading into the NJCAA Region I Tournament. The Apaches host Arizona Western at 3 p.m. Tuesday at home on the Douglas Campus. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students/children and free for kids under 12. Cochise students with an ID will be admitted free.
